Jimena Bermejo

 I created Mojada thinking about the stereotypes and “labels” I’m constantly confronted with. The words I chose are those which are true facts about who I am: I am short (little), Mexican and at the end of the performance my clothes is wet (“mojada,” which is also the translation for “wetback”)

This performance is open to a variety of interpretation. One read can be that I begin as me and I end up representing all Mexican domestic workers. The colors I am using are those of the Mexican flag (white, green and red.)
